Lady Aggies second in Clarke tourney The Jackson High School girls' basketball team is 3-1 after recent games and placed second in the Clarke County Christmas Tournament. On Dec. 18, the Lady Aggies beat Leroy 58-49 at home. Leading scorers for JHS were Brittanne Creighton, 17; Raven Tiggs, 14 and Genesis Bernard, 12. Megan Goldman was the top scorer for LHS with 12 points. The team next played in the Clarke County Christmas Tournament in Grove Hill. The Lady Aggies beat Thomasville in a tough 48-43 game on Dec. 27. Top scorers were R. Tiggs, 15 and Kechonda Martin, 13. K. Rowe was the top scorer for Thomasville with 16 points. On Friday, Dec. 28, the Jackson squad beat Leroy 52- 36. R. Tiggs and Chaniqua McMorris were the top scorers with 21 and 19 points, respectively. Clarke County High School beat the Lady Aggies in the championship game, 51-40. G. Bernard scored 14 points to lead the team and R. Tiggs had 10. Erica Moore was the top scorer for CCHS with 16 points. The Lady Aggies placed second in the tournament.
The Jackson girls' squad was to host Monroeville in the first area game of the season Wednesday, Jan. 2 at 5 p.m.
