      Dru Powell graduated from Leroy High in 2002 and after spending one year at home in community college, he headed to Tuscaloosa to finish his degree in education. "When I graduated high school I went to Alabama Southern for one year because I wasn't quite ready to leave home," Dru Powell said.

Lady Aggies second in Clarke tourney
      The Jackson High School girls' basketball team is 3-1 after recent games and placed second in the Clarke County Christmas Tournament. On Dec. 18, the Lady Aggies beat Leroy 58-49 at home. Leading scorers for JHS were Brittanne Creighton, 17; Raven Tiggs, 14 and Genesis Bernard, 12.
