Coffeeville police make drug arrest

Coffeeville Police Corporal Steve Carlisle arrested Dan Thornton on Dec. 29 for possession of a controlled substance after a bag of white powder, thought to be cocaine, was found in his pocket. Cpl. Carlisle also discovered a bag of white rocks, thought to be crack cocaine, and a large amount of cash on Thornton.

The drug evidence was seized and will be sent to the Department of Forensic Sciences for detailed analysis. Thornton was placed in the Clarke County Jail.
