Walker - Stout wedding vows exchanged
Mr. and Mrs. Eric Maybanks Walker Trista Annette Stout and Eric Maybanks Walker were united in marriage on Saturday, Oct. 18, 2008, at The Chunn House, home of Mr. and Mrs. Louie Walter Crim of Jackson.
Fr. James Havens and the Rev. Jim Dufriend officiated the 3 o'clock double-ring garden ceremony.
The bride is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Ralph Edward Ice Jr. of Jackson and Mr. and Mrs. Michael Eugene Stout of Folsom, W.Va. The groom is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Eric Lloyd Walker of Jackson.
Grandparents of the couple are Mrs. Barbara Amos King of Pine Grove, W.Va., Mr. and Mrs. Forrest Stout of Smithfield, W.Va., Mr. and Mrs. Ralph Edward Ice Sr. of Martinsville, W.Va., Mr. and Mrs. James Maybanks Cleiland Jr. and Mr. and Mrs. Harold Lloyd Walker, all of Jackson.
Mr. and Mrs. Crim, aunt and uncle of the groom, greeted guests on the front porch. A wreath of sunflowers and assorted greenery decorated the door.
The bridal book was placed on an antique marble-top washstand in the foyer, which was attended by Sally Elizabeth Outlaw, cousin of the groom. As guests entered the center hall, Hannah Tartt Jones, cousin of the groom, presented them with wedding programs.
The couple exchanged vows beneath white colonnades in the garden of The Chunn House. Yellow rose petals adorned either side of the aisle.
Rebekah Atkinson, harpist, played "Ave Maria" by Franz Schubert during the seating of the grandmothers and "Prelude in C" by Bach for the seating of the mothers. Escorts were Samuel Cleiland Outlaw and David Eagerton Walker, cousins of the groom, both of Jackson, and Sean Michael Stout, brother of the bride, of Mobile. Processional music included "Jesu, Joy of Man's Desiring" by Bach, "Canon in D" by Pachelbel, and "Trumpet Voluntary" by Clarke.
Samuel Cleiland Outlaw chimed the 3 o'clock hour as the bride entered the garden escorted by her father to "Bridal Chorus" by Wagner. She wore a strapless gown of ivory chiffon featuring a sweetheart neckline and empire waist. The waist was adorned with hand-sewn beading and crystals. The bride wore a two-tiered ivory tulle fingertip length veil and carried a bouquet of sunflowers and green hypericum berries tied with satin ribbon monogrammed with a "W" in ecru at the end of the dress-length streamers.
Serving as matron of honor was Christian Gunter Sullivan of Holly Springs, N.C. Margaret Ellen Williams from Athens, Ga. was maid of h nor. Attending the bride were Sol Vincent Davis of Mobile, Megan Brooks Ice, sister of the bride, of Jackson, Melissa Ann Gibson Shotts of Birmingham, Adrienne Dwana Love and Carly Rebecca Parr, both of Athens, Ga. and Helen Elizabeth Walker, sister of the groom, of Atlanta.
The bridesmaids wore streetlength dresses in the bride's chosen color of clover green. They carried hand-tied bouquets of yellow gerbera daisies, green hypericum berries and bear grass.
Flower girls were Ali Kayla Ice, sister of the bride, Haley Benton Jones, cousin of the groom, both of Jackson, and Mary Herndon Tipton, cousin of the groom, of Spanish Fort. They wore white pique float dresses with monogrammed bertha collars and carried baskets of yellow rose petals.
Serving as best man was Eric Lloyd Walker, father of the groom. Honorary best men were the groom's grandfathers, James Maybanks Cleiland Jr. and Harold Lloyd Walker.
Groomsmen were Stephen Matthew Jones, Jason Kent Outlaw and Alexander Daniel Outlaw, all of Mobile, and Richard Adam Scardamalia of Spanish Fort.
Ring bearer was Walter Clark Tipton, cousin of the groom, of Spanish Fort.
Readers were Melissa Ann Gibson Shotts, Helen Elizabeth Walker, Sean Michael Stout and Shelly Menz.
Directing the wedding was Mrs. Jackie Chastain Jr. of Jackson.
Reception
The groom's parents, Mr. and Mrs. Eric Lloyd Walker, hosted a reception at their home immediately following the ceremony.
Wrought iron lanterns holding sprengeri and votive candles were placed along the entrance walkway from The Chunn garden to the courtyard of the Walkers' residence.
The courtyard boasted a large serpentine table covered with white linens and centered with a three-tiered black wrought iron basket filled with bells of Ireland, yellow snapdragons, sunflowers, coral and yellow roses, willow branches, yellow gerbera daisies, saw tooth gerbera daisies, sprengeri, ivy, bear grass, fuji mums, yoko ono buttons, funky flair and green hypericum berries. The dining table offered buffalo wings, prosciutto wrapped asparagus, crawfish etouffeé, shrimp and pasta salad, curry wild rice chicken salad, salmon paté, burgundy mushrooms and venison and pork tenderloin.
A corner section of the courtyard held a round table covered with white linen cloth, which was also centered with a three-tiered black wrought basket. The baskets were filled yellow gerbera daisies, yellow saw tooth gerbera daisies, funky flair and green hypericum berries, sprengeri, ivy, bear grass, oranges, lemons, red and black grapes. The top tier held a pineapple surrounded with assorted flowers and greenery. Guests were served a variety of cheeses, crackers, fruit spears and mini desserts.
Guests' tables in the open columned carport and porches of the home featured white cloths, white linen hemmed stitched toppers with black wrought iron candelabrums filled with sprengeri, ivy, green hypericum berries, yoko ono buttons and saw tooth gerbera daisies.
The dining room table, covered with a white antique cloth, held the bride's three-tiered cake on a round silver plateau. The cake was decorated with butter cream icing with clover green ribbons at the base of each layer and icing buttons. A spray of fresh yellow roses, green hypericum berries and ivy topped the wedding cake.
A square silver plateau held the groom's monogrammed twotiered square chocolate on chocolate cake. The top and each layer of the cake were flanked with chocolate dipped strawberries.
The groom's father and the bride's matron and maid of honor presented toasts to the newlyweds.
Music for the reception was provided by Rebekah Atkinson, harpist.
Serving as hostesses were Mrs. James Weaver, Mrs. Michael Blount, Mrs. Byron Davis and Mrs. Robert Woodyard.
After a seven day honeymoon in Cancun, Mexico the couple is residing in Jackson.
Rehearsal Dinner
Dr. and Mrs. Paul McLendon, Mr. and Mrs. Keven Shaw, Mr. and Mrs. Kenny Walker, aunts and uncles of the groom, and Mr. and Mrs. Harold Walker, paternal grandparents of the groom, hosted the rehearsal dinner at the Kimbell House.
The double doors to the house were decorated with vine wreaths and sunflowers. A barbecue theme was used throughout the house. Dining tables were covered with canvas cloths topped with red placemats and red bandana napkins. The tables were centered with black wrought iron lanterns filled with sprengeri and votive candles.
Guests were greeted on the porch with drinks and a variety of appetizers. Special guests included the parents and grandparents of the couple and the wedding party and their dates.
Dinner included beef brisket, pulled pork, baked beans, green beans, potato salad, coleslaw, homemade barbecue sauce and rolls. The dessert table featured an assortment of cakes, cookies and pastries made by the groom's grandmother and aunt.
The groom chose this time to present gifts to the members of the wedding party.
