JA comes in second at Marengo tourney

The Eagles knocked off Sumter 23-25, 25-10, 25-21 and 25-22. Kayla Lowery had eight digs, eight kills and six blocks. Carly Gates had three digs, 15 kills and eight blocks. Ericka Williams had three aces, four digs and three blocks while Maggie Bowling had five aces and four digs.
JA swept Pickens in a doubleheader on Sept 11.
Lowery had 11 aces, 17 kills and two digs in the two games. Gates had 13 aces, 15 kills, two digs and two blocks in the two games.
The Eagles finished second place in the Marengo tournament with a 3-2 record.
JA knocked off Southern 16-25, 25-23 and 15-9 in the first game. Lowery had two aces, five digs and 9 kills. Gates had two aces and 10 kills.
The Eagles then knocked off Marengo 16-24 and 25-19. Lowery had five kills while Gates had six aces and 14 kills.
JA fell to Enterprise 18-25 and 7- 25. Lowery and Gates had two kills each. The Eagles bounced back with 25-21 and 25-14 win over Southern. Lowery had three aces and six kills. Gates had two aces and two kills while Haley Overstreet added two kills.
Enterprise knocked off the Eagles again in the championship game 20-25 and 14-25. Lowery had two digs, four kills and a block. Gates, who was named to the All- Tournament team, had three aces, two digs and four kills.
The Eagles fell to Morgan at home Sept. 16, 14-25, 14-25 and 21-25. Lowery had two digs and three kills. Gates had four aces, two digs and five kills. Laken Harvey had seven digs while Williams added three digs for Jackson Academy.
