Two motorcyclists face charges after leading a McIntosh Police officer on a high-speed chase down U.S. Highway 43, Friday, Sept. 26.

Sylvester Koen Jr., 39, of McIntosh and Jarrett Jarrod Sauls, 31, of Eight Mile were arrested by Sgt. Walter Conner after he attempted to stop them following complaints by citizens that the two were racing through town. "When he (Conner) attempted to pull them over, the two subjects took off at a high rate of speed," said McIntosh Police Chief Mike Ready.

Sgt. Conner pursued the riders to a residence in Calvert where they pulled over. At that time, they were taken into custody without incident, according to Ready.

The men were charged and released and will be required to appear in McIntosh Municipal Court. Both were charged with reckless endangerment and attempting to elude. Koen was also charged with driving with a suspended license.
