Inspirational Tabernacle Church of God in Christ in Jackson is hosting Prophet Charles Buchanan of Showers of Blessings Church of God in Christ in Mobile. The theme for the event is, "God is up to something." It will be an event of Monday, Oct. 6, at 7:30 p.m.

Aggie Baseball

sponsors golf tourney

The Jackson High School Aggies baseball team is sponsoring a golf tournament on Saturday, Oct. 11, at Jackson Links. Participants can signup for the two-man scramble at the Golf House. Fees are $75 per person and $150 per team. Tee time will be 8:30 a.m.

The Jackson High School Diamond Club is scheduled to meet today (Oct. 2), in the Jackson High School library at 6 p.m.

JHS Class of 1979

prepares for 30th

There will be a reunion soon for the Jackson High School alumni Class of 1979. Classmates are encouraged to attend the homecoming game Oct. 17 against W.S. Neal and support the Aggies.

There will be more information about making preparations for the 30th reunion at the game.

Alzheimer's/Caregivers

Support Group

This month's Alzheimer's/ Caregivers Support Group meeting will focus on cardio pulmonary rehabilitation of the Alzheimer's patient. It will be presented by the Cardio Pulmonary Rehabilitation Department of the Grove Hill Memorial Hospital Tuesday, Oct. 7, 1 p.m. in the hospital's conference room. LHS Class of 1998 reunion

The Leroy High School Class of 1998 will be celebrating its 10-year reunion on Friday, Oct. 24, 6 p.m. at Leroy High School in the home economics room. The evening's activities will include dinner promptly at 6, a slideshow, formal pictures and socializing until the homecoming game begins. A section will be reserved for the Class of '98 and the class will be recognized during the halftime show at approximately 8:15 p.m.

Shrimp boil

Coffeeville Fire Chief Dwight Pugh has announced the Annual Shrimp Boil, sponsored by the Coffeeville Volunteer Fire Department, will be Saturday, Oct. 11, 10:30 a.m. - until.

Located at Highway 84 and Highway 69 (1024 Highway 84), shrimp may be purchased by the plate for $10 or $10 per pound.

Hunter Education course

to be offered at ASCC

The Alabama Wildlife and Freshwater Fisheries Division of the Department of Conservation and Natural Resources will be offering a Hunter Education course at Alabama Southern Community College (ASCC) in Thomasville. All hunters born on or after Aug. 1, 1977, must complete the course before purchasing their first hunting license.

The class will be Oct. 6-8, 5-9 p.m. on the Thomasville campus. Those planning on attending may register online at www.outdooralabama.com; however, registration is not required.

Participants requiring special assistance should call or register at least one week in advance.

'Annie' tickets on sale

Thomasville City Schools drama team's performance of "Annie" will be on Thursday, Oct. 16, 7 p.m. and Saturday, Oct. 18, at 2 and 7 p.m. Performances will be in the Thomasville Civic Center's Bedsole Auditorium. 'Pumpkin Patch' to return

The First Methodist Church "Pumpkin Patch" will be returning to Jackson on Oct. 13. There will be all sizes and prices for pumpkins. School children are invited to visit the patch. For additional details call the church office at 246-2224.

Alabama Tale Tellin' Festival

will be Oct. 10-11

The 30th annual Alabama Tale Tellin' Festival will be Oct. 10-11, Pickard Auditorium on Washington Street in Selma. Tale Tellin' begins at 7 each night and Swappin' Grounds open at 5:30 to share a tale or two of your own.

Featured will be Kathryn Tucker Windham, Dolores Hydock and Donald Davis. Music will be provided by The Dill Pickers.

'Pumpkin Patch'

The Washington County Camellia Maids will sponsor a "pumpkin patch" in Chatom, Oct. 18-31 at the Washington County Public Library, with Family Fall Festival on Oct. 25. Included in the festival will be face painting, games, food, story time, inflatables and other activities.

Camellia Maids are Washington County junior and senior girls who contribute their time in community service throughout the county.

WSML to offer computer classes

The White Smith Memorial Library will begin offering computer classes Tuesday, Oct. 7, 10 -11:30 a.m. Classes will be on Tuesdays and Thursdays through Oct. 23. Seats are limited to 10. Interested parties must register at the library in person. Registration by phone will not be accepted.

Wagarville Park Festival

The community is invited to plan on attending the Wagarville Park Festival Saturday, Nov. 15. It will be an event for the entire family. Activities will include live entertainment, fun for the kids, Christmas shopping opportunities, a community yard sale and food.

The yearbook staff at Jackson High School invites students and parents to submit photos for the yearbook. If you have photos of school and community events or of you and your friends just having fun, we would like to see them. Our photographers do a wonderful job, however, they cannot be everywhere. Help us get as many photos as possible to create a terrific book everyone will want to have.

Apollo Night Talent Show

All ages and talents are invited to enter the Apollo Night Talent Show, Oct. 11 at 7 p.m. The event will be conducted at the Jackson Cultural Arts Center, formerly Locke Theatre in downtown Jackson. Prescreening is Saturday, Oct. 4 at 1 p.m.
