Orrie Leon Jackson

Orrie Leon Jackson of Gainestown, died Sept. 2, 2008 at Providence Hospital in Mobile at the age of 47. He was a 1979 graduate of Jackson High School and a member of St. John Baptist Church of Gainestown. His parents, King David and Alice Jackson, and three brothers, Robert Jackson, Richmond Jackson and Charles Jackson preceded him in death.

Survivors include three children, Keyon, Brittney and Shelton, all of Gainestown; seven sisters, Shirley Bryant of Grove Hill, Louida Hopkins and Juanita Hopkins, both of Chicago, Ill., Virginia Jackson, Peggy (Clausell) Pritchett and Linda Leggett, all of Gainestown, and Debra (Wendell) Jackson of Rockville; three brothers, K.C. (Pearlie) Jackson of Chicago, King David Jackson of Gainestown and W.C. (Carol) Jackson of Choctaw Bluff; and longtime companion Equinda Foxx.

Funeral services were Sept. 6 at the St. John Baptist Church with the Rev. Clayton Davis Sr., pastor and officiating minister. Interment followed in the church cemetery under the direction of Jackson Memorial Funeral Home.
