Robert A. Logan Jr., 60, is set to stand trial in Washington County for the Oct. 3, 2007 murder of a St. Stephens man.

Logan reportedly confessed to the murder of Horace Bozeman, 69, whose body was found Friday, Oct. 5.

According to Washington County Sheriff's Capt. Terry Beasley, at the Bozeman was found in his home, appearing to have been struck in the back of the head and robbed. He was pronounced dead at the scene by Washington County Coroner Shane Thornton.

Beasley said he questioned Logan on two separate occasions and the suspect confessed.

"He said he wanted money to purchase crack cocaine, which was his motive for the crime," said Beasley. "It appeared that he had struck Mr. Bozeman in the back of the head with an iron skillet he found hanging on the wall."

Beasley went on to say that the two men were reportedly "drinking buddies," prior to the incident. Warrants charging Logan with capital murder were filed in the Washington County Circuit Clerk's office.

According to several St. Stephens residents, Bozeman was known as a recluse who lived without any electricity or running water.
