Fire destroys McVay home

Fire destroyed the home of Ann Holton, located on Peniel Road in the McVay community, shortly before 2 p.m., Thursday, Aug. 14. Antioch Fire Department was the initial responder, with Jackson and Salitpa fire departments assisting. Firefighters were on the scene for sometime attempting to keep the fire from spreading to several older mobile homes that surrounded the residence.
