Percy Lee Robinson
Percy Lee Robinson, 80, a native of Whatley and resident of Philadelphia, Pa., was the son of the late Ruby and Aucy Robinson. Robinson died July 17, 2008 at the Mercy Suburban Hospital in Norristown, Pa. He was employed at A.P. Green in Philadelphia for 26 years until the plant closed. Robinson then focused his attention on his children and grandchildren. He was one of 12 children and was preceded in death by his wife, Elevelyn Burroughs Robinson.
Survivors include a devoted companion, Mary Ann of Philadelphia; four children, Christine and Melvin Robinson of Philadelphia and Freddie Earl Johnson and Dennis (Genet) Horn of Whatley; two sisters, Ethel Mae Robinson Nettles of Mount Vernon and Clearetha Robinson Edmonds of Mobile; five grandchildren, Christopher Robinson, Tasha Ezell, Monique Ezell, Justin Horn and Parius Horn; along with two stepchildren, eight step-grandchildren, three great-grandchildren and a host of other relatives and friends.
Funeral services were July 26, at First Baptist Church of Whatley with the Rev. Fernell Pendleton, pastor, and the Rev. Willie Coleman, eulogist. Burial was in Indian Ridge Church Cemetery under the direction of Francis Funeral Home of Pittsburgh, Pa. and Andrews Funeral Home of Jackson.
