11-year-old All-Stars win district championship

Bay Minette 2
In the first game, Jackson's Braxton Wallace struck out 15 batters as the All-Stars held on for a 3-2 win over Bay Minette. Wallace had a no-hitter through four innings of work.
Jackson got some help in the first inning, as Chandler Thomas and Adam Powell reached on walks. Chandler later scored after a wild pitch to put Jackson up 1- 0. Jacob Sullivan roped a single into deep center field in the third inning.
Jerel "Holywood" Foreman was brought in as a pinch runner and later stole second and third before scoring to put Jackson up 2-0.
Powell belted a triple in the fifth that scored Foreman and extend the Jackson lead to 3-0. Bay Minette gave Jackson a scare in the sixth inning when with two outs they were able to put a runner on when Wallace walked his first batter of the game.
The next two batters hit doubles to close the gap to 3-2.
Wallace struck out the next hitter for the win, leaving the tying run on third base.
Jackson 12,
South Monroe 2
Kirk Poellnitz struck out six in four innings as Jackson 10- runned South Monroe 12-2 in five innings in game two. Forman came on to pitch the final inning.
The 11-year-olds came out swinging in the first innings as Thomas, Braxton Baker and Wallace all doubled while Sullivan and Forman added singles to put Jackson up 5-0 after one inning of play.
South Monroe fought back with two runs in the third. Jackson scored six more in the fourth highlighted by a three-run bomb by Poellinitz.
Baker and Foreman doubled in the inning. Jordan Bernard stole home to end the game 12-2 in the bottom of the fifth due to the 10-run rule.

South Monroe 2
Wallace struck out 11 through four innings in the championship game as Jackson won the district championship with a 4-2 win over South Monroe. Sullivan picked up the save, pitching the final two innings.
Christopher Taylor tripled in Poellnitz in the second to put Jackson up 1-0.
Taylor later scored on a wild pitch to extend the lead to 2-0. South Monroe came right back in the thrid and tied the game 2-2. Sullivan and Poellitz both drove in Jackson's final two runs in the fourh innings to put Jackson up 4-2.
South Monroe loaded the bases in the fifth with one out, but Jackson turned a game-ending double play to wrap up the championship.
The team travels to Sylacauga July 19 to participate in the state tournament.
