Blanche York Hicks, 79, born in Coffeeville, died at her Satsuma home July 9, 2008. Alvin Wayne Hicks, her husband, and Mack York, her father, preceded her death.

She is survived by her mother, Bessie York of Creola; two sons, Joel Hicks of Creola and Andy (Brenda) Hicks of Saraland; one brother, Melvin Hicks of Satsuma; grandchildren, Dustin Hicks, Caylei Hicks, Whitnei Hicks, Trayce Hicks, Shana White and Allie Sansom; greatgrandchildren, Julian Hicks and Katelyn Hicks; and a host of other relatives and friends. Mrs. Hicks' life revolved around her love of family.

Funeral services were July 12 at Lathan Funeral Home in Jackson with interment in Coffeeville Cemetery.
