Charles Omer Vallee Sr., 80, died at a family residence May 24, 2008. A native of Rumford, Maine and a resident of Jackson, he was a retired auto body mechanic with Cronic Chevrolet and an Army veteran with more than 20 years service. Mr. Vallee was a veteran of WWII, the Korean Conflict and Vietnam. He was a member of Highland United Methodist Church of Griffin, Ga.

Survivors include three sons, Calvin L. Vallee and Christopher J. Vallee, both of Griffin, and Charles O. Vallee Jr. of Jackson; one daughter, Cynthia Hurst of Seward, Neb.; two brothers, Gerard Vallee of Rumford and Rudy Vallee of Tennessee; nine grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.

A graveside service was conducted May 28 at Westwood Garden Cemetery in Griffin with Lathan Funeral Home in Jackson responsible for the arrangements.
