James Alex Craig
James Alex Craig, a native and resident of Frankville, died May 20, 2008 at Infirmary West in Mobile, at the age of 88. The son of the late Rev. A.A. Craig and Sarah Bumpers Craig, he was a member of Mt. Bethel Baptist Church where he was a deacon and Sunday School teacher for many years. A WWII veteran, Mr. Craig served in the United States Army and was awarded the World War II Victory Medal, American Service Medal, Good Conduct Medal AR 600-68 and European African Middle Eastern Service Medal with three Bronze Stars.
Survivors include one son, James Lamar Craig of Frankville; one daughter, Eunicetina Sashington of Mobile; and seven grandchildren.
Funeral services were May 26 at the Mt. Bethel Baptist Church with the Rev. Anthony Kimbrough, pastor, officiating. Military rites were performed at graveside. Arrangements were directed by Andrews Funeral Home in Jackson.
