MARK YOUR CALENDAR Annual Watch Night service at Good Hope Missionary The Good Hope Missionary Baptist Church in Salitpa will have their annual Watch Night service on Monday, Dec. 31 at 10 p.m. The Rev. Johnnie Cox will deliver the Wight Night Message. Mobile Symphony Youth concert slated The Mobile Symphony Youth Orchestra will give a concert Sunday, Jan. 13 at 2:30 p.m. at the Sage Auditorium at Clarke County High School. Scott family reunion There will be a Scott family reunion meeting Saturday, Jan. 12, 2 p.m. at the Jackson Steakhouse. Social assistance on Wednesdays at Salvation Army The Salvation Army Social Service office is open on Wednesdays form 9-11 a.m. and 2-4 p.m. When in need of assistance with food or a variety of other needs, the office attempts to assist where they can. For additional information call 246-5693. Property taxes due Dec. 31 Clarke County Revenue Commissioner Chris Beverly reminds property owners that Dec. 31 is the deadline to pay ad valorem taxes. He points out that paying taxes by mail avoids lines at the courthouse. All payments by mail received with a postmark on or before Dec. 31 will not be charged late penalties. December 31 is also the deadline for making new applications for homestead exemptions and current use and to file returns for business personal property. Harper Head Start announces recruitment Applications are currently being accepted for the Harper Head Start mass recruitment. To apply, supply the following information to the Harper Head Start office between the hours of 7:30 a.m. and 3:30 p.m.: proof of income, birth certification, immunization record, proof of insurance (Medicaid, All Kids or Private) and Social Security cards of all household members. Alcoholics Anonymous meetings Alcoholics Anonymous meetings are conducted in the fellowship hall of Visitation Catholic Church, West Clinton Street in Jackson Wednesdays, 6:30 p.m. and Saturdays, 9 a.m. Diabetes Classes Diabetes classes will be conducted each Tuesday, 6:30 p.m. at the Jackson Medical Center. Heart of Dixie Collectors Club meets last Monday of month The Heart of Dixie Collectors Club will meet the last Monday of every month at the Jackson Steakhouse at 7 p.m. in the meeting room. Collectors of all types are welcome in sharing their knowledge and collections.
