Senior running back Anthony Landrum rushed for 212 yards and three touchdowns on 31 carries and captured his third Super 6 Class 1A championship game MVP award as the topranked Bulldogs won 42-7 over second-ranked Talladega County Central.

Landrum, who went over the 2,000-yard mark in the third period as he scored on two short 1-yard runs, was limited to only 47 yards by the staunch Tigers' defense in the first half.

He finished strong with 165 yards in the final two quarters - giving him 2,103 yards for the year in 14 games.

The Bulldogs (14-0), now winners of their last 27 games in a row, also won the state championship in 2006 and 2004 and now own seven state crowns.

"Sweet Water has a very good tradition in football going way back," said head coach Stacy Luker. "These seniors have won 56 games and three state championships in their time here. I think they stack up right up there with the best teams we've had. They are right there at the top."

Luker's son Drew, one of the team's key seniors, was 5-of-12 passing for 88 yards and one touchdown. He had a 17-yard strike to Heath Hill late in the second quarter that turned a close 15-7 game into a 22-7 margin. The Tigers (14-1) never recovered. Luker also made one of three Bulldog interceptions - giving him seven on the year.

Johnny Lockett scored the first TD when he recovered a fumble in the end zone as Talladega County Central mishandled a quick pitch at its own goal line. The score was set up by Antonio Landrum's 38-yard punt that was downed at the 1- yard line.

Reginald Virges, who led TCC with 25 yards rushing on 11 carries and also had 12 tackles on defense, scored on a 30- yard pass from Robert Duncan in the second quarter to cut the Bulldogs' lead to 8-7.

The last Sweet Water TD came on Johnny Lockett's 38- yard run in the fourth quarter.

The Bulldogs had 66 total plays to Talladega County Central's 37 and piled up 383 yards to the Tigers' 108.
