Lady Aggies top Leroy

The Jackson Lady Aggies fell to McIntosh and knocked off the Leroy Bears to improve to 2-5 on the season.

McIntosh 64, JHS 38

The McIntosh Demons routed the Jackson Aggies 64-38 in Jackson Dec. 8. Vechonda Martin led the Aggies with 12 points. Brittanee Crayton had 11, Iesha Bush chipped in with seven, Angela Leggett had five and Tiggs Adams rounded out the top scorers with three.

Xavier Barnes was the leading scorer for the Demons with a game-high 19 points. Velencia Reed had 14 and Brittany Simmons added 13. Jayla Reed rounded out the scoring with eight points for the McIntosh Lady Demons.

JHS 45, Leroy 30

Jackson rebounded with a 45- 30 win over the Leroy Bears Monday, Dec. 10, in Leroy. The Bears started off the game strong and built a 16-15 lead heading into intermission.

The Aggies came out in the second half and forced several turnovers to pull away from the Bears. Leroy dropped to 1-1 on the season.

Iesha Bush led all scorers with 14 points for Jackson while Crayton added eight.

Ashley Snow led the Bears with eight points. Jacqueline Howell chipped in with six in the losing effort for Leroy.

Jackson coach Trinnia McKenzie said she was pleased with the effort her team put forth against the Bears.

"We started out real slow," McKenzie said. "At halftime we went in and made some adjustments and we came out and played well in the second half. Our girls really wanted this win. It was a very good win for us," she said.

Jackson has a big weekend coming up with home games against Clarke County on Friday (Dec. 14) and Vigor Saturday (Dec. 15).

•Leroy's schedule kicks into high gear as the Bears traveled to Chatom Tuesday (Dec. 11) to take on the Washington County Bulldogs. They have a home game with Excel Friday (Dec. 14) before meeting up with the Lady Aggies again next Tuesday.
