Mr. Walker and Miss Loper

Mr. and Mrs. Garry Gene Loper of Millry announce the engagement of their daughter, Heather Leigh to Benton "Ben" Glenn Walker, son of Mr. and Mrs. Robert Benton Walker Jr. of Montgomery.

The bride-elect is the granddaughter of Ellen C. Blount of Millry and the late Robert Joseph Blount, and Hattie C. Loper of Millry and the late Charles J. Loper Sr.

Miss Loper is a 1997 graduate of Millry High School. She holds a bachelor of science degree in English with a minor in journalism from the University of West Alabama in Livingston and is scheduled to finish her master's degree in May 2008 at UWA. She currently resides in Canton, Ga. She is an executive assistant to the CEO of Orkin and Associates, a full-service real estate management and investment company located in Alpharetta, Ga.

The prospective groom is the grandson of Mr. and Mrs. Glenn Cooper and Robert B. Walker Sr., all of Montgomery and the late Rosalyn Walker.

He is a graduate of Hooper Academy in Hope Hull. He has a bachelor's degree in physical education from the University of Alabama in Tuscaloosa, and is scheduled to finish his master's degree in sports management in August 2008 at UA. He also resides in Canton and is employed by the Fulton County School System at Hopewell Middle School in Alpharetta.

The couple will wed on Dec. 8, 2007 at the Battle-Friedman Home in Tuscaloosa. Due to limited capacity, the event is by invitation only.
