Jones Chapel presents Old

Fashioned Day

Jones Chapel Church on Walker Springs Road is presenting an Old Fashioned Day on Sunday, Nov. 18 beginning at 10:30 a.m. Attendants may dress in old fashioned apparel. Lunch will be served at noon in the fellowship hall. The Rev. Marc Williams is pastor.

All are encouraged to attend.

Men and Women's Day

program Sunday

The Rev. Walter G. Bracy, pastor of the First Baptist Church of Prichard, will be the guest speaker Sunday, Nov. 18 at 11 a.m. for a Men and Women's Day program at Mt. Gillard Baptist Church in Carlton. Pastor Van Williams invites all to attend.

praise music

Come and celebrate the season at First Baptist Church in Leroy with an evening of holiday and praise music featuring the piano, organ and flute. Georgiann Lewis and Amanda McLain, church accompanists, will celebrate the season Sunday, Nov. 25 at 6 p.m.

Musicians appreciation

at St. James A.M.E.

Pastor Clausell Boykin of St. James A.M.E. Church in Choctaw Bluff invites all groups, choirs and soloists to a musicians appreciation gathering Saturday, Dec. 1 at 6:30 p.m. and Sunday, Dec. 2 at 2:30 p.m.

The Rev. Matthew Davis, pastor of St. Peter Baptist in Allen, will be the speaker.

'Singing the Old Time Way'

Mt. Olive No. 2 Missionary Baptist Church pre- Thanksgiving service: "Singing the Old Time Way" will be Sunday, Nov. 18, at 3:30 p.m.

Featured artists will be Steffon McCovery and the Mobile County Mass Choir in concert. Local group, The Jackson Male Chorus, is also on the program.

The Pastor's Assistance Committee sponsors this service. Hattie A. Sampson, committee president and Dr. Edsel Davis, interim pastor, invite everyone to attend.

96th anniversary celebration

at St. James A.M.E.

St. James A.M.E. Church in Choctaw Bluff will celebrate their 96th anniversary Sunday, Nov. 18 at 2 p.m. The Rev. Brian Chapman and the Vernal Chapel Baptist Church of Jackson will be the special guests. The Rev. Clausell Boykin II is the pastor.

First Baptist Church of

Fulton

Morning services at the First Baptist Church of Fulton on Sunday, Nov. 18, will be led by Michael Boggs, formerly of FFH. Services will begin at 11 a.m. All are welcome to attend.

MaHarreys to sing

at Seven Oaks

The MaHarreys will be singing at Seven Oaks Baptist Church on Saturday, Nov. 17 at 7 p.m. The church is located 10 miles west of Chatom and three miles east of Highway 45. For additional information call 251- 847-3475.

First Assembly providing

'Thanksgiving Blessing Boxes'

Jackson First Assembly of God would like to share the blessings God has given them this year by giving out "Thanksgiving Blessing Boxes." These boxes will contain items needed for a Thanksgiving meal. The church's goal is to bless families that are facing difficult times, said Pastor Russell.

To reserve a box, you must be one of the first 100 people to call the church office at 246- 4736 and then attend First Assembly's worship service on Sunday, Nov. 18 at 6 p.m. The blessing box may be picked up immediately following the brief service.

First Assembly is located at 2410 Coffeeville Road, across from the National Guard Armory. Pastor E.C. Russell invites everyone to this special service.

HIS Vineyard has second

give-away

Many people have been blessed with much needed clothing as a result of the first Free Clothes Give-Away at HIS Vineyard. With contributions continuing, a second give-away has been scheduled for Saturday, Dec. 1.

Those wishing to contribute clothing items may drop them off at Flowertown next to the church at 1070 Coffeeville Road. For additional information call Christina Havard at 246-9746 or Terri Jordan at 251- 404-0577 to make arrangements for pickup.

115th anniversary at

Mt. Gilead Missionary

The 115th anniversary of Mt. Gilead Missionary Baptist Church in Carlton will be celebrated Sunday, Nov. 25 at 3 p.m. The guest speaker will be the Rev. Darrell L. Jones, pastor of Sweet Bethel Missionary Baptist Church of Coden.

Pastor Lee E. Bush Jr. invites all to attend.

Jackson Street Baptist hosts

68th anniversary celebration

The Jackson Street Baptist Church will be celebrating their 68th anniversary on Nov. 18. The Rev. Richmond Chaney and the congregation of the Leroy Baptist Church will be in charge. Service will begin at 2 p.m.

Thanksgiving meal celebrated

at Star of Zion

The surrounding communities of Jackson are invited to share a Thanksgiving dinner on Thanksgiving Day between the hours of 11 a.m. and 1 p.m. with the members of the Star of Zion A.M.E. Zion Church of Jackson. The Rev. Irmatine T. Chastang is pastor.

at Hobson revival
