Firefighters battle Toddtown blaze
Firefighters worked from the ground and the roof to fight a house fire on Crestview Road in the Toddtown community shortly after 1 p.m. Tuesday. Tommy Roper is the homeowner but was not home when the fire started. Antioch and Salitpa Fire Departments responded and Jackson Fire Department sent a truck to assist. At least one Helwestern volunteer fireman was at the scene. At left, a tanker truck dumps a load of water into a portable tank that was being used as a water source to fight the fire. Roper had a mobile home destroyed by fire at the same location about four years ago.
