Leroy scored 36 points in the first quarter en route to a 50-0 drubbing over the Red Level Tigers Friday on the road in the Bears' final region contest.

Clint Moseley started the Leroy scoring barrage with 11:27 to go in the opening stanza with a 47-yard touchdown pass to Aerik Davis. Paul Gartman added the PAT to give the Bears a 7-0 lead just 47 seconds into the game.

It didn't take Leroy long to find the end zone again when Moseley found Steven Scoggins for a 14-yard touchdown pass with 10:08 on the clock in the first period following a three-and-out by the Bears' defense.

Gartman missed the PAT but Leroy led 13-0. Moseley finished the night 2-2 passing for 61 yards and two touchdowns. He has thrown for 1847 yards on 111-166 attempts with 13 touchdowns and only four interceptions in nine games to rewrite his own passing yard record that he set last season as a sophomore. Moseley also leads the team in rushing with 378 yards.

The Leroy defense was again dominant as the Bears held Red Level to -38 yards in the first half and just 55 for the game.

Following another threeand out by LHS, Grant Brown returned the Red Level punt 66 yards for a touchdown with 7:49 left in the first quarter. Gartman nailed the point after to put the Bears up 20-0.

Detrick Powell added a 9- yard touchdown run with 5:10 on the first quarter clock to put the Bears up 26-0. Gartman missed the PAT.

With 3:21 to go in a nightmarish first quarter for Red Level, Gartman nailed an 18- yard field goal on a fourth-and- 1 to put Leroy up 29-0.

On Red Level's ensuing possession, the Bears again found the end zone when Michael Bracey scooped up a Tiger fumble and carried it 28 yards to pay dirt.

Gartman was good on the point after to put LHS up 36-0 with 1:59 still remaining in the opening quarter.

The Leroy starters again found themselves sitting on the bench in the first half due to a lopsided score but the Bears were able to get some key performances in the second half from some of its younger players.

With 2:53 to go in the third quarter, sophomore Jarrette Davis broke free for a 48-yard touchdown run. Gartman hit the point after to extend the Leroy lead to 43-0.

Leroy eighth grader Terrance Brown added the final touches on the victory with a 76-yard touchdown blast with 4:14 to go in the game. Gartman was good on his extra point attempt to give Leroy their final score of 50-0.

Brown led all rushers with one carry for 76 yards and a touchdown. Jarrette Davis added 66 yards on five carries and touchdown.

Jared Elmore was one of 31 Leroy defenders to make a tackle as he led the Bears with five tackles and an interception.

"It was good to play everyone again. The game got out of hand real early. Our starters on offense only played four snaps. We will have to play them more this week (against Choctaw County) to help us get ready for the playoffs," LHS Coach Danny Powell said.

Leroy (8-1, 7-0, 2A Region 1) hosts Choctaw County Friday night at Palmer Stadium in the final game of the regular season.
