JHS students attend conference

Jackson High School members of Distributive Education Clubs of America (DECA) and Future Business Leaders of America (FBLA) recently attended the Joint Leadership Development Conference for Career/Technical Education students at Birmingham.

The theme for the conference was, Set the Stage for Success. Students and sponsors attended workshops on business etiquette, personal finance, teamwork, officer duties, parliamentary procedure, public speaking, public relations, and program of work for student organizations.

In addition to the workshops, attendees were entertained by well-known chalk artist and motivational speaker, Ben Glenn. His presentation was on selfmotivation and strategies for success. Students and sponsors from Clarke County High School and Thomasville High School attended the conference with the group from JHS. At the close of the conference the group shopped and dined at the Galleria Mall.
