Change smoke alarm batteries this weekend The Jackson Fire Department reminds area residents to change their smoke detector batteries when they set their clocks back this weekend.
"The time changes twice a year and it is a good practice to get into the habit of changing the batteries in your smoke detectors at those times," said department spokesperson Hilda Thomas.
