Jackson now only needs a T.R. Miller win over W.S. Neal Friday night to give them a playoff birth after a season that has just not gone the way the Aggie faithful would have liked.

In the first quarter, LaDarius "Blue" Austin hit Corey Besteda on a screen pass and he took it 63 yards to pay dirt. John David Mitchell's PAT was no good but the Aggies led 6-0 out of the gate.

Jackson's defense was stingy the whole night only allowing 81 total yards, but the Aggies were down right dominant in the first half holding W.S. Neal to zero first downs.

Later on in the second quarter, Austin found fullback Tony Ivory for a 10-yard touchdown pass that put Jackson up 12-0. Mitchell's point after was no good.

Senior linebacker Brad Chancey sacked the W.S. Neal quarterback in the end zone for a safety in the second quarter to put Jackson up 14-0. The Aggies never looked back. Chancey had a huge night for Jackson with 10 tackles, a sack, an interception and a safety.

Mitchell bounced back after two missed extra points with a 25-yard field goal that extended the Aggie's lead to 17-0 in opening half of action.

Austin added one more touchdown in the half when the new Aggie play maker plunged in from 1 yard out on a quarterback keep to put Jackson up 23- 0 after another unsuccessful extra point. Austin finished the game 16-25 for 175 yards and three touchdowns.

Andrew Ezell added the Aggies other score with a 15- yard touchdown run in the second half. Mitchell nailed the point after this time to put the Aggies up by the final score of 30-0.

"We probably played our best game of the year. I am really proud of our players and our coaching staff. This (win) gives us a shot at the playoffs," Jackson Coach John Blackmon said.

Shontavius Simms led the Aggie defense with 12 tackles. Gabriel Mass picked up a sack and nine tackles. Sam Harbuck added five tackles while Kenneth Harbuck and Carl Darrington wracked up seven tackles each.

Jackson will host Hillcrest- Evergreen Friday at Legion Field with the Aggies in need of a victory in the final region battle of the year. A win coupled with a W.S. Neal loss to T.R. Miller will guarantee the Aggies the fourth spot in 4A Region 1.

"We need to put this win behind us and get ready for a good Hillcrest team," Blackmon said.
