Eagles no match 2A Southern
By Chris Sherman SA Sports Writer

Things didn't get any easier for Jackson Academy Friday night as the Eagles had a 84-0 setback against Southern Academy. SA built a 55-0 lead in the first half and never looked back dropping the Eagles' season record to 0-8.

"We have to put that game out of our minds and get ready to move on. We survived it so there is no need in dwelling on it. We have to get ready for a pretty good Marengo team. That other game is out of our mind," JA Coach Mike Garrett said.

With no chance at postseason play and two more games left in the gauntlet that has been the Eagles' season, what is there to be salvaged in these last two weeks against Marengo and rival Clarke Prep?

"We are going to do what we are supposed to do. We will prepare and practice just like we would if we were undefeated and heading to the playoffs. We are not going to give up," a determined Coach Garrett said.

The Eagles will travel to Linden Friday night to face off with the Marengo Longhorns. Next week, JA will hosts rival Clarke Prep in what is always a huge game for both teams.

Game time is 7 p.m.
