MARK YOUR CALENDAR BC/BS of Alabama presents CCERA program The Clarke County Education Retirees Association (CCERA) will meet today, Oct. 18, 11:45 a.m. at the New Magnolia in Grove Hill. Blue Cross/Blue Shield of Alabama will present the program. All education retirees and support retirees are urged to attend. Each member is asked to bring another potential member with them. Sullivan Family hosting Fall Homecoming Festival The Sullivan Family will host a Fall Homecoming Festival and Band Reunion Oct. 18-20 at the Sullivan Family Homeplace Park, 9 miles south of Jackson and 1 mile off Highway 43, near St. Stephens. Coffeeville High School "Ole Timers" reunion All former students, teachers, families and friends of Coffeeville High School are invited to an "Ole Timers" reunion at the school Saturday, Oct. 20. Registration begins at 9 a.m. All are encouraged to bring a favorite dish for the luncheon. The graduating Class of 1957 will be honored at this time. Alcoholics Anonymous meetings Alcoholics Anonymous meetings are conducted in the fellowship hall of Visitation Catholic Church, West Clinton Street in Jackson Wednesdays, 6:30 p.m. and Saturdays, 9 a.m. Diabetes Classes Diabetes classes will be conducted each Tuesday, 6:30 p.m. at the Jackson Medical Center. For additional information contact Rene' Forman, RN BSN, 251-246-9021. 24th Jackson Academy fund-raiser tickets on sale The 24th annual Jackson Academy fund-raiser tickets are now available for a $100 donation each. Only 200 will be sold with the drawing for the winning four tickets Monday, Nov. 19, 7 p.m. in the Jackson Academy gymnasium. Participants do not have to be present to win. Proceeds go to the athletic association. Tickets will be drawn in this order: 1st place, $5,000; 2nd, $2,500; 3rd, $1,500; 4th, $1,000. Collegiate Financial Aid workshop Oct. 18 Parents and students interested in learning more about financial aid for college are invited to a free Making College Financial Planning Count workshop. The workshop will be conducted at Jackson High School auditorium today, Oct. 18 at 6:30 p.m. The program is sponsored by www.Monster.com. Yvonne Williams will present the program. She will speak to freshman students at 1:30 p.m. explaining how important it is to build a good foundation. Junior and senior classes will be addressed in the spring. Heart of Dixie Collectors Club meets last Monday of month The Heart of Dixie Collectors Club will meet the last Monday of every month at the Jackson Steakhouse at 7 p.m. in the meeting room. Collectors of all types are welcome in sharing their knowledge and collections. Brunson reunion at Oak Grove Baptist Descendants of Hessie and Tom Brunson will host their family reunion Nov. 3 at 10:30 a.m. at Oak Grove Baptist Church. 'Preacher, Preach It' at The Promise Theatre Tickets are on sale for performances of "Preacher, Preach It", a Gospel play written and directed by Anthony Ezell, at The Promise Theatre in downtown Jackson. The play will be presented on Saturday, Oct. 20 at 7 p.m. and Sunday, Oct. 21 at 6 p.m. Tickets may be purchased at Ezell's Contemporary Dance Theatre, Doshia's, Preschoolers Unlimited and The Promise Theatre; $12 in advance and $15 at the door.
