CHURCH CALENDAR Annual homecoming and revival service program at James Chapel Baptist James Chapel Baptist Church will be hosting their Annual Homecoming and Revival Service program beginning Sunday, Oct. 28 at 12 p.m. Pastor Osbry Millender will be delivering the message. Revival services will begin Monday evening, Oct. 29 at 7 and continue through Thursday, Nov. 1. Evangelists will be: Monday - the Rev. Chester Williams, associate minister of Mt. Hebron Baptist Church; Tuesday - the Rev. Wilson Gibby, pastor of Pilgrim Rest Baptist Church of Waynewright; Wednesday - Elder Robert Stokes, pastor of the New Life Holiness Church of Mobile; and Thursday - Elder Johnnie E. Clarke, a member of the Body of Christian Ministry of Atlanta, Ga. The Rev. Osbry Millender, pastor, encourages all to attend. Rev. Boykin to speak at New St. Matthew Baptist Pastor Kevin Boykin of New St. Matthew Baptist Church in the Lily Valley community of Jackson announces an anniversary celebration on Sunday, Oct. 28 at 3 p.m. The Rev. Clausell Boykin of St. James A.M.E. Church in Choctaw Bluff will be the speaker. Revival services will be presented Monday, Oct. 29 through Wednesday, Oct. 31 at 7 each evening. Monday the Rev. Hurley James, pastor of St. Paul Baptist in Salitpa will be the speaker, the Rev. Robert Jackson, pastor of Good Will Baptist Church in Bladen Springs on Tuesday and on Wednesday will be the Rev. Ivory James, pastor of Greater New Hope A.M.E. Church in Millry as the evangelist. Pleasant Grove Baptist hosting homecoming Bro. William Allison will be the guest homecoming speaker at the Pleasant Grove Baptist Church in the Winn community, Sunday, Oct. 21. Worship service will begin at 11 a.m. with lunch to follow. Bro. Roger Koel is the pastor. Homecoming at UMC of McIntosh The United Methodist Church of McIntosh will host homecoming Sunday, Oct. 28. Worship service will be at 11 a.m. with dinner following in the fellowship hall. All are encouraged to bring a favorite covered dish. Guest speaker Cliff Cobb works for the Alabama Department of Forestry. He will also speak during revival services Sunday, Monday and Tuesday at 7 each evening Historic Andrews Chapel will be open to guests and the public from 11 a.m. until 6 p.m. The Rev. Molly Furford, pastor, invites everyone to come and take part. Watkins to be guest speaker and evangelist at Frankville Baptist Homecoming at Frankville Baptist Church will be Sunday, Oct. 21 with the Rev. James Watkins, pastor of Leroy Baptist Church, as guest speaker. Sunday School is at 10 a.m. and worship at 11 followed by a covered dish lunch in the fellowship hall. The Rev. Free clothes give-away at HIS Vineyard HIS Vineyard Church, located at 1070 Coffeeville Road in Jackson, invites everyone to a clothes give-away Saturday, Oct. 20 beginning at 7 a.m. The response from the community has been overwhelming with donations of clothing items; there is something for everyone. The church will be serving hot dogs and drinks around lunchtime. They encourage all to pass the word, grab a friend and join them. Thanks are extended to all that helped to make the event possible. Homecoming and memorial/grave decorations at Evergreen Baptist The Rev. Howard Gaston invites everyone to attend homecoming and the first year memorial/ grave decoration day at Evergreen Baptist Church in Jackson. Events will be Sunday, Oct. 21 with Sunday School at 9:45 a.m. and morning worship at 11. The Rev. Rodney Mullins will be the guest speaker. A special time during the worship service will be allotted for anyone wishing to give a brief testimony in memory of a loved one or friend laid to rest in the adjoining cemetery. Sinai Baptist Church of Mobile, will be the evangelist. Pastor and wife to be honored with appreciation program The Springfield A.M.E. Zion Church in the Salitpa community continues to host an appreciation program for their pastor and his wife. The celebration honoring the Rev. Edward Seabron Sr. and his wife Della will climax on Sunday, Oct. 21 at 3 p.m. with the Rev. Clarence Vincent Parker of Little Zion A.M.E. Zion Church as the speaker. Goodwill Missionary celebrates 106 years The community is invited to take part in the 106th year church anniversary of the Goodwill Missionary Baptist Church in Bladon Springs Sunday, Nov. 5 at 3:30 p.m. Guest speaker and special guests will be the Rev. This will be a time of games, food, fun, praise and worship for all kids. The evening will include door prizes. The festival is sponsored by the Stave Creek Baptist Church of Jackson. Fall Festival at Oak Grove Baptist Oct. 27 Oak Grove Baptist Church in the Chilton community will sponsor a Fall Festival, Oct. 27 beginning at 3:30 p.m. Events will include a costume contest for all ages, games, activities, obstacle course and more. The evening will end with a hayride. Fall Festival committee members are asking those who can to bring a 2-liter coke, cake, cookies, candy or cupcakes for the cakewalk.
