CHURCH CALENDAR Bassett Creek hosting Week of Celebration Bassett Creek Baptist Church will be hosting their third annual Week of Celebration Oct. 7-10. The Sunday morning service at 11 will feature "The Fisherman" of Boaz. Sunday evening, at 6, Shannon Moses, pastor of Peniel Baptist Church, will bring the message and Dr. Bobby Hopper, DOM for the Bethel Association, will speak on Monday at 7 p.m. Tuesday's guest preacher will be Dr. Robert Kirkland, pastor of Thomasville Baptist Church and Dr. Teman Knight, director of the office of Leadership and Church Care for the Alabama State Board of Missions, will speak on Wednesday at 7. Homecoming on Oct. 7 at First Baptist of McIntosh The First Baptist Church of McIntosh, on Highway 43, will host homecoming on Sunday, Oct. 7 at 11 a.m. with the Rev. Mark Dunn as guest speaker. Lunch will follow the service in Sheppard Hall. Music will be provided by Anky Akridge, Clarence Carpenter and friends. The Rev. John Stone is the pastor. Wagarville Holiness to conduct revival and homecoming The 2007 homecoming for Wagarville Holiness Church is Sunday, Oct. 7 at 10 a.m. Speaker will be the Rev. John B. Dyess of Wilmer. Revival services begin Sunday night at 5. Monday through Friday, services are at 7:15 p.m. Annual Missionary Day and pastor's ninth anniversary The community is invited to the Annual Missionary Day, Sunday, Sept. 30, 2:30 p.m. at Greater New Hope A.M.E. Church of Millry. Presentations will focus on "The Fruit of the Spirit." The Rev. Ivory James and family will be honored Sunday, Oct. 7, with Ninth Year Appreciation speakers. Minister A.J. Williams, of James Chapel Baptist Church in St. Stephens will be the guest speaker at 11 a.m.; and the 2:30 presenter will be the Rev. Sunflower AOH has homecoming and revival The community is invited to attend homecoming services at Sunflower AOH Church of Thomasville, Sunday, Oct. 14 at 2:30 p.m. Speaker will be Elder Raymond McConnell, pastor of Christ Temple in Lower Peachtree. Dinner will be served after the service. A revival will be conducted Monday, Oct. 15 through Friday, Oct. 19 at 7 nightly. The evangelist for the week is Elder Bobby R. Reed's Chapel celebrates 157th anniversary Reed's Chapel Baptist Church invites the community to take part in the church's 157th anniversary homecoming Sunday, Oct. 14. Sunday School will be at 10 a.m. with worship service at 11. The morning message will be delivered by new pastor, Ricky Turner. Lunch and a gospel singing will immediately follow. Pumpkin Patch Oct. 14-28 at First United Methodist Church The Pumpkin Patch will once again be a fall attraction on the grounds of the First United Methodist Church on East Rose Street. Hours of the Pumpkin Patch will be 3:30 p.m. until dark Monday through Friday; Saturday and Sunday hours are from 12:30 until dark. Schools are invited to picnic in the patch. Kasey Fleming, chairman of the fund-raising project, will be contacting area schools to set up appointment times for students to visit.
