Leroy defense key in Bears 27-7 win
Bears hold Excel to 8 yards rushing to remain unbeaten at 3-0

      The Leroy Bears found a way to get past a slow start to throttle their way past the Excel Panthers for a key 28-7 win last Friday night at Palmer Stadium in Leroy. Early in the second quarter the Leroy offense and defense both provided points to break open a scoreless game.

      The Washington County Bulldogs improved to a perfect 3-0 on the season with a 34-0 shutout win over region foe Mobile Christian. WCHS pounded out 304 yards to just 86 for Mobile Christian. LaVance Williams put the first points on the board early in the first quarter with a touchdown run.

JA Eagles off to hot start in volleyball
      JA Varsity Volleyball On Sept. 10 Jackson Academy hosted a tri-match with Wilcox and Cottage Hill. JA beat Wilcox Academy 25-4 and 25-0. Total for both games Evin Bowling had two aces and four kills; Mallory Lankford, four aces; and Sydney Thomas, 22 aces.
