Blood Drive today

United Blood Services will conduct a blood drive at the Jackson Medical Center on Thursday (today), Sept. 20, 2-8 p.m. T-shirts and cholesterol screenings will be given to donors. For additional information contact Rene' Forman at 247-1117.

Pace reunion Sept. 29 at VFW in Jackson

Descendants of Allen and Ruby Etheredge Pace will gather for a family reunion Saturday, Sept. 29, 9 a.m. at the VFW Club in Jackson. Family members are asked to bring lunch and all necessary accompaniments for the noon meal.

Friends are invited to visit during the day.

Narcotics Anonymous meeting

Narcotics Anonymous will be meeting Tuesdays at 5:30 p.m., First Presbyterian Church, 302 E. Church St., Jackson.

Alcoholics Anonymous meetings

Alcoholics Anonymous meetings are conducted in the fellowship hall of Visitation Catholic Church, West Clinton Street in Jackson Wednesdays, 6:30 p.m. and Saturdays, 9 a.m.

VFW 5355 meetings

The VFW Post 5355 and Ladie Auxiliary meets the third Thursday of every month, 6 p.m., at the VFW Club on Club Wiley Road.

Members are urged to attend and new members are welcome.

CCERA meets today

The Clarke County Education Retirees Association (CCERA) will conduct their first meeting for 2007-2008 Thursday (today), Sept. 20, 11:30 a.m. at the Jackson Steakhouse.

Free CEU Blitz for RNs and LPNs

All RNs and LPNs are invited to a free CEU Blitz, Sept. 21 at 6 p.m., registration at 5:30, at Pearce Memorial Park Assembly House. The topic will be on Alzheimer's.

Multiple speakers and topics will be covered Sept. 22, 7:30 a.m. with registration beginning at 7.

Diabetes Classes

Diabetes classes will be conducted each Tuesday, 6:30 p.m. at the Jackson Medical Center. For additional information contact Rene' Forman, RN BSN, 251-246-9021.

Marilyn Culpepper to speak at historical society meeting

The Clarke County Historical Society will meet on Sunday, Sept. 23, 2:30 p.m. in the Grove Hill United Methodist Church fellowship hall.

The speaker for the meeting will be Marilyn Culpepper who grew up in Grove Hill and is the executive director of the Mobile Historic Preservation Society. The Mobile Historic Preservation Society, founded in 1935, operates and maintains Oakleigh Historic Complex.

The public is invited to attend. (The date of this presentation is one week earlier than the regular meeting date.)
