August 18 ceremony unites Van Dee - York

Mrs. Jacob Van Dee
Jenna Mary York and Jacob Anthony Van Dee were married on Aug. 18 2007 at 1 p.m. in Lakeview Baptist Church in Auburn. The Rev. Al Jackson performed the ceremony.

The bride is the daughter of Karen and John David Atkins II of Opelika and Di Andrea and Bobby Joe York of Athens. She is the granddaughter of Jackie and Joe York of Acworth, Ga. and Donna and Hank Walker of Guntersville.

Jeanne and Daniel Powell of Leroy and Candace and James Van Dee of Maryville, Tenn. are the parents of the groom. He is the grandson of Margie Reid of Jackson and the late Ray Reid, the late Ina Powell, James Van Dee Sr. of Nanafalia and the late Jackie Van Dee.

"A Page is Turned,", "Your Grace Still Amazes Me", "In Christ Alone" and "And Now My Lifesong Sings" were presented by Katie and Shawn Sandlin accompanied by John Dale Rector.

The bride was given in marriage by her fathers.

Maid of honor was Amy Rodgers with Joy Dees, Emmaline Burch, Dora Cheng, Pamela Sanasith, Rissa Downs, Elizabeth Donahue, Lauren Engle, Audrey Blocker and Sarah Adkins as bridesmaids.

Daniel Powell was the best man. Groomsmen were Brian York, John David Atkins, Jay Van Dee, Brad Busby, Brad Garris, Landon Wise, Caleb Wise, Micah Smith and Vic Coffman.

Morgan Illman and Emory Lawler were the flower girls with James Day and Caiden Lawler as ring bearers.

Following the wedding a reception was hosted in the fellowship hall of the church.

The couple is making their home in Opelika following a wedding trip to Nicaragua.

Rehearsal Dinner Jeanne and Daniel Powell entertained the couple at a dinner given at Lakeview in their honor following the rehearsal.
