Spiritual Beliefs
God is as near as your prayers
By E.C. Russell Pastor, First Assembly of God

Matt. 28:20 (New LIV) "Teach these new disciples to obey all the commands I have given you. And be sure of this: I am with you always, even to the end of the age."

Loneliness is feeling like you are all alone. It doesn't matter how long you've been a Christian, how mature you are, how many people you've led to the Lord, or how many people you surround yourself with, no one is immune to loneliness.

Even Jesus experienced loneliness. In the Garden of Gethsemane Jesus found His three closest friends asleep when they were suppose to be watching with Him. In fact, probably the loneliest statement ever made was when Jesus cried from the cross, "My God, My God, why have you forsaken me?"

There are ways to help overcome this feeling of loneliness when it tries to come to us. First, get involved. There are always people who need your help. Show compassion and help them, it will bring joy to you.

Focus on good things. Think on the positive things that have happened in your life.

Have a goal. Think of some new things you'd like to accomplish and try to achieve them.

Remember God. You are never really alone because God loves you and He is as near as your prayers.
