CHURCH CALENDAR Homecoming and revival to be presented at St. Luke Baptist Pastor Bobby White of St. Luke Baptist Church in the Walker Springs community announces a homecoming service Sunday, Sept. 23 at 12 noon. Revival services will be presented Monday, Sept. 24 through Thursday, Sept. 27 at 7 nightly. Guest speaker for both events will be the Rev. Danny Wallace of Silas. Love program for Kathleen and Evon James A love program will be presented for Kathleen and Evon James at St. James A.M.E. Church in Choctaw Bluff on Saturday, Sept. 29 at 7 p.m. All groups, choirs, churches, praise teams, soloists and ministers are invited to take part in this program said Pastor Clausell Boykin. Kingdom Kidz Crusade Sept. 23-25 at First Assembly of God in Jackson Kidz Quest Children's Ministry and children's pastors Anita and Eric Kuehner of First Assembly of God in Jackson invite children ages 3-12 to a Kingdom Kidz Crusade. Parents are encouraged to bring their children Sunday, Sept. 23, 6- 7:30 p.m. and Monday and Tuesday 7-8:30. Children will be challenged through worship, lessons, puppets, drama, Scripture, special guest characters, games and more. Prizes will be given away nightly, as well as one boy or girl ages 3- 7 and 8-12 receiving a grand prize on Tuesday night. An additional prize will be awarded to the child bringing the most friends throughout the crusade. First Assembly of God is located on Highway 69 across from the National Guard Armory in Jackson. Rivers guest evangelist at First Pentecostal The First Pentecostal Church of Jackson will be conducting revival services Sept. 20-22 at 7 p.m. Guest speaker will be C. Rivers of Lumberton, Miss. Pastor Rick Rivers invites all to "come and be blessed." Pastor Rivers is conducting a study on the Book of Acts Sundays at 10 a.m. All are invited. Wayman Chapel A.M.E. honors pastor's 6th anniversary The Wayman Chapel A.M.E. church family invites everyone to worship and celebrate the sixth-year anniversary of their pastor and first lady, the Rev. Prospere and Pamela Sainvilus Sunday, Sept. 16. Guest speaker for the 11 a.m. service will be the Rev. Fredrick Portis, associate pastor of the Cedar Fork Baptist Church in Suggsville. The Rev. Cleitis Walker and the congregation of the Greater Mt. Rose A.M.E. Church of Daphne will be the speaker and special guests at the 3 p.m. service. Homecoming and revival planned by Lewis Grove On Sunday, Sept. 23 at 2 p.m. the Lewis Grove Baptist Church family invites all to attend the annual homecoming and revival services. Speaker for the day will be Pastor James Reed of The Church of God Intensive Care Ministries in Denham Springs, La. Revival services will begin at 7 p.m. Monday, Sept. 24 and climax on Friday, Sept. 28. The evangelist for the week will be Pastor Ivory James of Greater New Hope A.M.E. Church in Millry. Homecoming and revival planned at Bethlehem Baptist Church The annual homecoming service will begin at 12 noon, Sunday, Sept. 26 at the Bethlehem Baptist Church. The Rev. Joseph Laffitte, associate minister of New Pilgrim Baptist Church in Saraland, will bring the message. Revival services begin Monday, Sept. 27, continuing through Wednesday, Sept. 29 at 7 nightly. The Rev. Derrick Powell, pastor of Good Hope Baptist Church of Salitpa, will be the evangelist. The Rev. Donald Sterling Sr. is pastor. Divine Sisters of Faith celebrating first anniversary The first year anniversary of the Divine Sisters of Faith will be celebrated Saturday, Sept. 15, 6:30 p.m. at the Greater Pilgrim Rest Baptist Church in Walker Springs. "Heaven is my goal, I wanna go to heaven" is the theme of the event. Guest speaker will be Elder Georgia P. Nash with Kim E. Johnson as mistress of ceremony and the Rev. Mulvoy Taylor is pastor. Sunday's services are at 10 a.m. and 7 p.m. and Monday-Wednesday at 7 p.m. Homecoming at Pine Grove UMC Pine Grove United Methodist Church of Leroy will come together for homecoming Sunday, Sept. 16 at 11 a.m. Acovered dish dinner will follow the service.
