Front porch sitting missed this summer

      One of my favorite things to do during the early morning hours and in the late afternoon is to sit on my front porch. Needless-to-say, the last several months of extremely hot, muggy weather have not frequently afforded me the pleasure.

Southwest Alabama Porcelain Artists Assn. to meet Saturday
      The second meeting of the Southwest Alabama Porcelain Artists Association will be Saturday, Sept. 1 in the fellowship hall of the First United Methodist Church of Jackson. Social time begins at 9:30 with the business meeting starting at 10.

      Smith Veronica Rochelle Johnson of Jackson and Recardo Jermaine Smith of Chatom announce the birth of a son, JaCorey Keyshawn Smith, Aug. 1, 2007 at Jackson Medical Center. The baby weighed 6 lbs. and 6 oz and was 18 inches long.
