Back-To-School Jesus Jamboree at Mt. Olive Baptist Church No. 2

The Frye Family
The Pastor. D.W. Moore and the Mt. Olive Baptist Church No. 2 of Jackson invite the community to a Back-To-School Jesus Jamboree, Sunday, Aug. 19, 4 p.m.

Harriette Douglas, program sponsor, stated the program is to "encourage all of our children to be their best and do their best in school."

Musical guests will include the Frye Family of Mexia. Mary and Willie Frye and their nine home-schooled children, ranging in age from 6 months to 16 years of age; Mt. Olive No. 2 Hope Ministry; instrumentalist Martez Stewart; Gospel Rapper Group; Derrick Moore; soloist Yana Rodgers; and stepping troupes DaFine Divaz and Brothers of Jackson High.

Scheduled to make brief statements are Althea Thomas on PTA; Betty Washington on Future Business Leaders of America; Cathy Boykin on avoiding bad behavior; Regina Robinson on cheerleading; and Dr. O.L. Hubert on parental involvement.

Students, parents, teachers and school personnel have a special invitation to be present. A door prize drawing will be conducted for students and teachers, courtesy of area businesses.
