CHURCH CALENDAR Youth, Men and Women Conference, Aug. 11 The annual conference for youth, men and women will be conducted Saturday, Aug. 11 at the Grove Hill Missionary Baptist Church in Uriah (Eliska), 503 Scott Road. The Rev. T.L. Douglas is pastor. Breakfast will be served 8-9 a.m. with the prayer walk 9:15 until 9:45 a.m. and dinner at 2 p.m. Dr. Claudette Ownes, native of Frisco City and resident of Decatur, and members of Shiloh Missionary Baptist Church of Decatur will conduct the conference. The theme will be "Understanding and Using Your Spiritual Gifts." Annual horse show and 4-wheeler ride Aug. 25 Mt. Shady A.M.E. Zion Pastor Aid Club is sponsoring the Annual Horse Show and 4- Wheeler Ride Saturday, Aug. 25, 9 a.m. until. The activities will take place at the Sunflower ball field with a $7, adult and $3, child admission. Dinner will be served at 1 p.m. Booth rental fee is $50. There will be fun and games for children. Participants ride at their own risk. Hicks gives testimony at Assembly of God Robert Hicks will give testimony, Sunday, Aug. 12, 6 p.m. at First Assembly of God. The church is located on Highway 69 across from the National Guard Armory. Greater Pilgrim Rest anniversary celebration Minister Clayton Davis Jr. and the Rev. Corey Pruitt, pastor of Mt. Zion Baptist Church of Grove Hill, will be the guest speakers honoring the Rev. Youth Explosion 2007 "Growing Up In Jesus" will begin Saturday, Aug. 11 at 5 p.m. This event will focus on helping children to develop hearts to walk in God's Word, said Pastor Williams.
