CHURCH CALENDAR Youth, Men and Women Conference, Aug. 11 The annual conference for youth, men and women will be conducted Saturday, Aug. 11 at the Grove Hill Missionary Baptist Church in Uriah (Eliska), 503 Scott Road. The Rev. T.L. Douglas is pastor. Breakfast will be served 8-9 a.m. with the prayer walk 9:15 until 9:45 a.m. and dinner at 2 p.m. Dr. Claudette Ownes, native of Frisco City and resident of Decatur, and members of Shiloh Missionary Baptist Church of Decatur will conduct the conference. The theme will be "Understanding and Using Your Spiritual Gifts." Annual horse show and 4-wheeler ride Aug. 25 Mt. Shady A.M.E. Zion Pastor Aid Club is sponsoring the Annual Horse Show and 4- Wheeler Ride Saturday, Aug. 25, 9 a.m. until. The activities will take place at the Sunflower ball field with a $7, adult and $3, child admission. Dinner will be served at 1 p.m. Booth rental fee is $50. There will be fun and games for children. Participants ride at their own risk. Hicks gives testimony at Assembly of God Robert Hicks will give testimony, Sunday, Aug. 12, 6 p.m. at First Assembly of God. The church is located on Highway 69 across from the National Guard Armory. Greater Pilgrim Rest anniversary celebration Minister Clayton Davis Jr. and the Rev. Corey Pruitt, pastor of Mt. Zion Baptist Church of Grove Hill, will be the guest speakers honoring the Rev. Mulvoy Taylor Jr.'s 4th anniversary. Festivities will be Sunday, Aug. 12 at Greater Pilgrim Rest Baptist Church in Jackson. The Rev. Davis Jr. will speak at 11 a.m. and the Rev. Pruitt at 2 p.m.. Annual homecoming and revival services at Good Hope Missionary The annual homecoming at Good Hope Missionary Baptist Church of Salitpa will be conducted on Sunday, Aug. 12 at 3 p.m. Revival services will begin Monday, Aug. 13-17 at 7 nightly. The Rev. James McGhee Jr. along with his congregation will be the special guets. Minister Marius Beckham will be the evangelist for the week. Pastor Derrick Powell welcomes the community to attend. Church of Millry will conduct their annual homecoming celebration on Sunday, Aug. 19 at 3 p.m. The guest speaker will be the Rev. Sam McDonald, pastor of Pineville Missionary Baptist Church of Waynesboro, Miss. Revival services begin Aug. 20 and continue through Aug. 24 at 7 nightly. The evangelist for the week will be the Rev. Clausell Boykin celebrates anniversary The anniversary of the Rev. Clausell Boykin as pastor of St. James AME Church in Choctaw Bluff will be held Sunday, Aug. 19 at 2:30 p.m. The Rev. Georgia P. Nash, pastor of St. Paul AME Church of Carlton, will be the guest speaker for this occasion. Revival at Springfield A.M.E. Revival services at Springfield A.M.E. Zion Church will continue through Friday, Aug. 10 at 7 nightly. The Rev. Georgia P. Nash will be the evangelist for the week. The Rev. Edward Seabron invites all to attend. Cedar Point Baptist hosting homecoming and revival Homecoming will be Sunday, Aug. 19, 2 p.m. at Cedar Point Baptist Church on Highway 31 in the West Bend community of Coffeeville. Speaker for the event will be the Rev. Derrick Powell and special guests will be the congregation of the Good Hope Baptist Church of Salitpa. A revival will begin Monday, Aug. 20 and conclude Friday, Aug. 24, meeting at 7 each evening. Speaker for the revival will be the Rev. Edmond Charleston Jr. of the Antioch M.B. Antioch Baptist Church homecoming Aug. 12 All are invited to homecoming at the Antioch Baptist Church on Sunday, Aug. 12. The community is invited to come and take part. Gospel singing at Seven Oaks Baptist Church "The Providentials" of Ruth, Miss., the "Gospel Three" and others will be featured at a gospel singing at Seven Oaks Baptist Church. Bruce Johnson, pastor of Knight Chapel Baptist Church in Millry, will be the guest speaker Sunday, Aug. 19, 3 p.m. at New Canaan Missionary Baptist Church. The congregation will be celebrating the church's anniversary said Pastor Van Williams. Youth Explosion 2007 "Growing Up In Jesus" will begin Saturday, Aug. 11 at 5 p.m. This event will focus on helping children to develop hearts to walk in God's Word, said Pastor Williams. The guest speaker will be Minister Clayton Davis Jr. of the Greater Pilgrim Rest Baptist Church in Walker Springs.
