Two charged with possession of pot Two marijuana possession arrests were made last week in Washington County as the result of separate traffic stops. Harry K. Olson, 55, of Theodore was charged with first degree possession of marijuana and possession of drug paraphernalia after being pulled over on U.S. Highway 43 in Leroy by Task Force One Agent Blane Barnett around 8:30 a.m., July 19. According to Task Force One Commander Michael Hunt, consent to search was given by Olson, at which time Agent Barnett found a small bag of marijuana on his person, along with a pipe believed to be used in smoking the illegal drug. Because Olson had prior charges of marijuana possession, he was charged with the felony count. He was booked into the Washington County Jail on $9,000 bond. In a separate incident, July 18, Elliot Kevin Fields, 38, of McIntosh was pulled over around 4:53 p.m. on Topton Road by McIntosh Police Officer Brad Singleton. According to Singleton, he originally stopped Fields for not wearing a seat belt, but eventually discovered the suspect was driving without a valid driver's license and no insurance. "He appeared nervous, which made me suspicious," said Singleton, who was assisted by Officer Rico House and Task Force Agent Barnett. According to the officer, Fields consented to a search of his vehicle, at which time Agent Barnett discovered a small bag of what was believed to be marijuana under the back seat. Fields was placed under arrest and booked into the Washington County Jail on $1,500 bond.
