13-year-old Dixie League All-Stars state bound

The Jackson 13-year-old Dixie League All-Stars finished up in second place behind Daphne in the Dixie- Majors Tournament in Thomsaville.

Results

Fairhope 5 Jackson 4

Jackson fell in the first game of the tournament 5-4 to Fairhope July 6. Elliot Pugh was 2-2 and Tyler Ready, Aaron Ferguson and Elliot Pugh had two hits to lead the charge at the plate. Dustin Moseley finished up 1-4, Evan Moorer 1-3 and William Gartman 1-3.

Jackson 6

North Clarke 5

Jackson bounced back with a 6-5 extra-inning victory over North Clarke July 7. Dustin Moseley picked up the win on the mound for Jackson.

Luke Griffin led the Jackson bats with a 3-3 performance. Dustin Moseley was 2-4 and William Gartman 2-5. Also collecting hits for Jackson were Harold Bryant, Aaron Ferguson and Tyler Keith.

Jackson 14

Fairhope 11

Needing a win to advance to the championship game, Jackson defeated Fairhope 14- 11 in a slugfest.

Harold Bryant picked up the win on the mound. Dustin Moseley had a huge night going 4-5. Elliot Pugh was 2-2 and Aaron Ferguson 2-3 to cap off the top hitters. William Gartman, Tyler Ready and Josh Marks picked up one hit each.

With the second place finish the team will head to the State Tournament on July 20 in Enterprise.
