Harbuck to speak at

SWAIA meeting

The Southwest Alabama Improvement Association (SWAIA) monthly meeting will be Tuesday, July 17, 7 p.m. at the Jackson Steakhouse.

The guest speaker will be Ken Harbuck, the new principal at Jackson High School. He will discuss his views on JHS' role as it relates to students' work force readiness and higher education access. A question and answer period will follow. The public is invited to attend.

'Moments' an evening

with Bill Wilson

Internationally known writer and actor Bill McNiff will deliver a dramatic monologue illuminating the life and recovery of Bill Wilson, the co-founder of Alcoholics Anonymous.

In "...Moments..." Wilson comes to life in this moving and humorous presentation. His vision led to the beginning of A.A.

This presentation will take place at the University of South Alabama Student Center ballroom, July 21, 6-8 p.m. It is free to the public and sponsored by Bradford Health Services.

Diabetes class at

Jackson Medical

There will be diabetes classes presented at Jackson Medical Center beginning July 3 and continuing each consecutive Tuesday during the month at 6:30 each evening. Contact René Forman, RN BSN, 246- 9021.

Everyman, the

Musical July 20-22

Students from Clarke and surrounding counties will be performing in the play "Everyman, the Musical" at Clarke County's new cultural arts center, July 20- 22 at the former Locke Theater in Jackson. The production is being presented by the Promise Theater and Performing Arts Center and the Grove Hill Arts Council. Admission will be $10.

No Strings Attached'

July 19, 20 & 21

BTAPC will present a youth production of No Strings Attached on July 19, 20 and 21 (Thursday through Saturday). Curtain is at 8 p.m. except Saturday, which is at 2:30 p.m. This musical features nine original songs.

The cast, from Choctaw County are Bethany Brown, Ashleigh Christopher, Robert Conner, Anne-Claire Cummings, Logan Dees, Zack Dees, Laurel Lewis, Tess Lewis, Matthew Lewis, Bailey, Bree and Marshall Manning, Kate Roberts, Piper Shepherd, Melissa Snow, Riggs and Riley Taylor; from Clarke County: Amarie Gramelspacher and Aly Scarbrough. Washington County: Payton and Chandler McIlwain and from Mississippi, Sydney Mosley and Micheal Walley.

These actor-singers range in age from 6 years old up. Tickets will be on sale at the usual banks and businesses in Washington and Choctaw counties. This is a limited run so get your tickets early. For information call Fred Kimbrough (251) 843-5138.

JHS Class of 1987

reunion announced

The Class of 1987 Class Reunion will be held Saturday July 21, 2007 at the VFW Club, Club Wiley Road, Jackson.

Clarke County Soil & Water board meeting

July 18

The Clarke County Soil & Water Conservation District will have their board meeting on Wednesday, July 18 at 12:30 at the USDA office in Jackson. The public is welcome to attend.

In conjunction with the board meeting the Conservation District will discuss the 2007 Watershed Assessment and the public is invited to participate in the Clarke County Watershed Assessment.
