Uruguayan Missionaries visit First Baptist Leroy
By Ellen Williams

GAs, RAs, Mission Friends and adults on back row: (L - R) Anival Costelao, Ana Lia Costelao, Claren Dees, Lyle Dees
The GAs, RAs, Mission Friends and their teachers at First Baptist Church of Leroy took as a special project the collection of socks for the children of Uruguay. In their first effort they collected 115 pairs of socks. Claren Dees, Southern Baptist Missionary to Uruguay, said that the children there need socks for the winter months. Winter in Uruguay is June, July and August.

Claren and her missionary husband, Lyle Dees, both from Chatom, are home on furlough and they were guests for the evening services at First Baptist Leroy, Sunday, July 8. The Dees are hosting Ana Lia and Anival Costelao in their home for two weeks. The Costelaos are Uruguayan citizens. They were present for the evening service, also. Ana Lia gave her testimony and her husband Anival, dressed as a Uruguayan gaucho, played the guitar and sang (in Spanish) Christian Gaucho music.

The GAs, RAs and Mission Friends had made a second appeal for socks for the children of Uruguay and the service ended by the children placing those socks in a basket.
