11,12-year-old All-Stars begin play in Jackson

The Jackson 11 and 12-year-old All-Stars begin sub-district play Friday, June 29 in Jackson.

11-year old results

Jackson 11 South Monroe 1

Caleb Anderson picked up the win on the mound for the 11-yearold All-Stars in the opening game for Jackson Friday night. Khalil Lang, Daniel Dees and Chase Gunter all went 2-3 for Jackson. Daniel Smith added a two-run homer while William Overstreet and Caleb Anderson added one hit each.

Jackson 5 Choctaw-Wash. 1 Jackson and Choctaw- Washington met up in the winner's bracket on Saturday, June 30, with Jackson prevailing 5-1 in a Little League classic.

The teams stayed knotted up at 1-1 for 10 innings before Jackson erupted for four runs in the top of the tenth.

Choctaw-Washington was able to load the bases three times in the game, twice needing only one run to earn a win. Each time the Jackson pitcher prevailed and shutout the All-Stars from Choctaw-Washington.

Khalil Lang picked up the win on the mound for Jackson and was 3-3 at the plate. William Overstreet was 2-3 and Caleb Anderson, Daniel Smith, Daniel Coleman and Gaige Raley all added singles.

12-year-old results

Jackson 16 Monroeville 1

The 12-year-old Jackson All- Stars blasted Monroeville 16-1 in their opening game thanks to a seven-run third inning.

Matt Barton went the distance on the hill to pick up the win for Jackson striking out seven batters.

Andre Ezell had a huge night at the plate going 3-3 with a three-run homer and a solo home run to pace the Jackson hitters. Matt Barton was 2-4 and Robert Slayton, Cole Dunn, Tyler Smith, John Watkins, Lakendrick James and Will Stewart all collected singles for the Jackson Allstars.
