Rance Carr named interim JA headmaster
By Chris Sherman SA Reporter

Rance Carr
Jackson Academy has named former headmaster, Rance Carr interim headmaster as the school begins its search for Lynn Wright's replacement.

Wright, JA headmaster and football coach the last two years, resigned from the school June 26 to accept a position as principal at New Hope High School in Columbus, Miss. He will not coach football at the 5A school.

"Lynn turned in his resignation last Tuesday and it is effective July 1," JA Board Chairman Stanley Beard said. "He is a good man and we will miss him. He had some family issues back home."

Carr was hired a few weeks back as an advisor to the board.

Garrett named head football coach

Current JA assistant coach Mike Garrett will take over as head football coach.

"We are in the process of looking for a new headmaster. We are taking applications. We will start interviews after the 4th of July," Beard added.

"Carr will be conducting our everyday business until we get someone in here. He has a lot of experience and a good relationship with all our teachers."
