Sale at the

Caring Hearts Center

The Caring Hearts Center, a ministry of the Washington Baptist Association, will hold a 1/2 off sale July 5 & 6.

Every item in the store will be on sale including clothing, shoes, household items, toys, belts, purses, books, work and school uniforms and other miscellaneous items.

The store is located at 117 E. Front St., Chatom; hours are 9 a.m. through 2 p.m. with extended hours on Thursdays to 6 p.m.

'Down South Seafood Fixings' July 12 at UM

Got wildlife? Dr. Lee Stribling, extension wildlife scientist, will share what to plant, how and when. There will be a Down South Seafood Fixings, July 12, 6 p.m. at the Harrigan Forest Learning Center at the University of Mobile.

Registration will include supper, seminar and ATFA annual membership. Fees, $25 for a non-member, $5 for an ATFA member, are payable at the door. RSVP no later than July 6. Call Patty at 251-442-2425.

Harbuck to speak

at SWAIA meeting

The Southwest Alabama Improvement Association (SWAIA) monthly meeting will be Tuesday, July 17, 7 p.m. at the Jackson Steakhouse.

The guest speaker will be Ken Harbuck, the new principal at Jackson High School. He will discuss his views on JHS' role as it relates to students' work force readiness and higher education access. A question and answer period will follow. The public is invited to attend.

'Moments' an evening

with Bill Wilson

Internationally known writer and actor Bill McNiff will deliver a dramatic monologue illuminating the life and recovery of Bill Wilson, the cofounder of Alcoholics Anonymous.

In "...Moments..." Wilson comes to life in this moving and humorous presentation. His vision led to the beginning of A.A.

This presentation will take place at the University of South Alabama Student Center ballroom, July 21, 6-8 p.m. It is free to the public and sponsored by Bradford Health Services.

Diabetes class at

Jackson Medical

There will be diabetes classes presented at Jackson Medical Center beginning July 3 and continuing each consecutive Tuesday during the month at 6:30 each evening. Contact René Forman, RN BSN, 246- 9021.

Writer's symposium

Everyman, the

Musical July 20-22

Students from Clarke and surrounding counties will be performing in the play "Everyman, the Musical" at Clarke County's new cultural arts center, July 20-22 at the former Locke Theater in Jackson. The production is being presented by the Promise Theater and Performing Arts Center and the Grove Hill Arts Council. Admission will be $10.

speaks at HIS Vineyard

The community is invited to attend an evening of worship and fellowship at HIS Vineyard Church Saturday, July 7 at 7 p.m. The Rev. Jeff MacFarland associate pastor of Harvest Creek Family Fellowship in Mobile will be the guest speaker.
