Chapman - Bumpers engagement announced

Miss Karen Annette Chapman
Nancy Chapman of Jackson announces the engagement and forthcoming marriage of her daughter Karen Annette to Shedrick O'Neil Bumpers, son of Mr. and Mrs. Arnold Bumpers of the Winn community and James Washington of Mobile.

Miss Chapman is the daughter of the late Samuel T. Chapman Sr. and the granddaughter of the late Jerry and Daisy Campbell and the late Evans and Annie Chapman.

A graduate of Jackson High School, she received her bachelor of science degree in learning disabilities from Alabama A&M University, a master of education and administrative certification from the University of South Alabama and will receive her educational specialist's degree from the University of Alabama in July.

She is a member of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Inc. and is employed with Mobile County Public Schools in the department of special programs.

The prospective groom is the grandson of the late Quincy and Laura Bryant and the late Millie Mitchell and Alonso Hunt.

He is a graduate of Coffeeville High School and served six years active duty in the U.S. Navy. Mr. Bumpers is currently employed with Alabama River Newsprint, the owner of Bumpers Trucking and serves in the U.S. Navy Reserves.

The wedding ceremony will be an event of June 30, 2007 at Pearce Memorial Park Assembly House in Jackson at 5 p.m. Family and friends are invited through the medium of the press.
