Block party this Friday in downtown Jackson

The Pine City Park Committee will host a block party in downtown Jackson, this Friday, June 22, in front of the Junior Fire Station from 5:30-8 p.m. The fund-raising event, originally scheduled for June 8, was cancelled due to inclement weather.

The party will offer a night out for the entire family and features food, games and entertainment for children and adults.

Armbands will be sold to children for $5. Those who wear their park T-shirt or purchase one that night will receive a free drink ticket. Proceeds go to benefit the Pine City Park project.

The Jackson Police Department advises motorists to be aware that Commerce Street from Kimball Avenue to Broad Street, College at Church Street and Church Street at Forest Avenue will be closed from 4:45- 8:30 p.m. for the event.
