Armstrong receives ETSU scholarship

Juliane Armstrong
East Tennessee State University has selected freshmen for the University Honors Scholars Program. These students receive full scholarships.

Juliane Amelia Armstrong graduated with highest distinction from Cleveland High School, where she was an officer in the Art Club, in the Senior Class Playoffs production, a member of Interact and the Anchor Club. She plans to major in psychology.

Her parents are Joe and Nancy Armstrong of Cleveland, Tenn. Grandparents include Helen Staggs of Longview, Wash. and the late Bill R. Staggs and the late Dr. John and Margaret Armstrong.

To be selected a student must have strong academic credentials and show evidence of strong community and leadership activities. The high school weighted grade-point average, taking into account advanced placement courses, is 3.95 on a 4.0 scale.
