Little League All-Stars announced
All-Star announcement draws big crowd

Fans packed Charles W. Burge Field Thursday night in anticipation of the Little League All-Star announcement. Before the announcement was made at roughly 9 p.m. several teams wrapped up their season.

South Alabamian, who won the Little League championship last week, blanked NAPA 10-0 in the early game. Tyler Smith picked up the victory on the mound for SA.

In the nightcap, Fire Department denied Rotary's attempt at finishing up in second place by beating them 6-5 in a very exciting ball game.

By the time the last game ended there was an overflow of parents and kids standing around the Little League field waiting on the All-Star announcements.Before the actual announcement the first and second place teams were announced.

South Alabamian was presented their trophy for first place in the 11 and 12-year-old division with Civitan bringing home the second place trophy.

Dale's Body Shop picked up the first place trophy in the 9 and 10-year-old division with State Farm coming in second place. Don's Body Shop brought home the first place trophy in Minor League play with Pine City Motors coming in second place.

The 9-year-old All-Star team included Dylan Allen, Tucker Batley, Blake Bolen, James Ezell, Tucker Faust, Phillip Fuller, Jordon Lankford, Brandon Lang, Taylor Roberts, Wade Sullivan and Eastwood Thomas with coaches David Batley and Darren Bolen.

The 10-year-old All-Stars included Braxton Baker, Jacob Busby, Brandon Christian, Hunter Mosely, Adam Powell, Sawyer Rotch, Jacob Sullivan, Christopher Taylor, Chandler Thomas, Braxton Wallace, and Joseph Windham with coaches Larry Windham and Bud Powell.

The 11-year old All-Star team included Khaliah Lang, Daniel Dees, Daniel Smith, Nathan Hawk, Gaige Raily, William Overstreet, Caleb Anderson, Daniel Coleman, Drake Stringer, Randy Bumpers and Chase Gunter with coaches Tripp Overstreet and Danny Smith.

The 12-year-old All-Stars included Robert Slayton, Andra Ezell, Kyler Pollenitz, Jared Thomas, Will Stewart, LaKendrick James, Tyler Smith, Matt Barton, Cole Dunn, Taylor Carpenter and John Watkins with coaches Searcy Slayton and Jason Outlaw.

Jackson will host the district and state tournament at Charles W. Burge field.
