Task Force One makes multiple drug arrests

After receiving information concerning a large amount of illegal drugs that was expected to be at the Royal Motel on Highway 43 in Jackson on June 8 at approximately 1:20 a.m., Commander Hunt with Task Force One along with Auxiliary Agent Charles Tuberville went to the motel to investigate.

Once on the scene, the agents noticed a suspicious vehicle. Commander Hunt noticed the driver putting something in the rear of the vehicle. The driver, Jamarcus Dixon, of Daleville, was asked to get out of the vehicle. Approximately 1.0 gram of what was believed to be marijuana was found on Dixon. The passenger was also asked to exit the vehicle. Agents found a plastic bag of what was believed to be approximately 9.3 grams of cocaine and approximately 9.8 grams of what was believed to be crack cocaine in the vehicle. Dixon was placed under arrest and charged with second-degree possession of marijuana and possession of controlled substances. The passenger was not charged. Dixon was taken to the Clarke County Jail.

Adrian King, of Jackson, was arrested after being stopped by Task Force One for an investigative stop on Thursday, June 7 at the intersection of Forest Avenue and E. Clinton Street. Agents found approximately 5.5 grams of crack cocaine and powder cocaine in his possession. King was charged with possession of a controlled substance.

Clint Harris, of Jackson, was arrested on June 7 at his 7385 Highway 43 North residence and charged with unlawful possession of a controlled substance and possession of drug paraphernalia after agents from Task Force One, the Clarke County Sheriff's Department and the Jackson Police Department attempted to serve Harris a warrant and found a small rock like object in his possession. The rock was believed to be crack cocaine. Harris was arrested and transported to the Clarke County Jail.

While the agents were waiting to transport Harris, a vehicle driven by Emily Lawson and David Ray Jordan pulled into the driveway. Both subjects were acting suspicious and were asked to exit the vehicle. When Jordan exited the vehicle an open knife fell onto the ground.

Agent Lem Dubose and Jackson Police Department Officer Josh Garrett obtained consent from the suspects to search the vehicle. During the search agents found drug paraphernalia in the vehicle.

Neither Lawson nor Jordan claimed the paraphernalia so both were charged with possession of drug paraphernalia. Lawson was also charged with second-degree possession of marijuana after agents found a bag containing what was believed to be marijuana in his possession. Both subjects were arrested and transported to the Clarke County Jail.
