Murphy receives numerous scholarships and awards

Logan Murphy
A 2007 Jackson High School graduate, Logan Murphy, has been awarded scholarships and awards totaling $256,000.

Full-tuition scholarships included a Presidential Scholarship from the University of Alabama; the Spirit of Auburn Founders Scholarship from Auburn University; a University Scholar Award from UAB; Troy University's Millennium Scholar's Scholarship; a Presidential Honors Scholarship from Spring Hill College; Presidential Scholarship from the University of Mobile; and a Presidential Scholarship, Freshman Book Scholarship and Freshman Laptop Scholarship from the University of South Alabama. Murphy was chosen for these scholarships based on scholastic excellence and personal achievement.

Other awards received included a Robert C. Byrd Honors Scholarship from the Alabama Department of Education; a Lillian P. Andrews Foundation Scholarship; a Boise Scholarship and a Pine City Ambassador Scholarship.

Murphy will attend the University of Alabama and plans to pursue a career in medicine. He is the son of Susie and Terry Murphy of Jackson.
